Ranji Trophy: In the Ranji match being played at the GGM Science College ground between Jammu and Kashmir, the host team scored 340 runs in response to which Haryana lost 1 wicket for 2 runs. A total of 11 wickets fell from both teams on the first day. Jammu and Kashmir still have a lead of 338 runs.
Host Jammu and Kashmir team captain Parvez Rasool won the toss and decided to bat first. The team scored 340 runs losing all their wickets in 87 overs in the first innings. Shubham Singh Pundir scored 84 runs in 183 balls with the help of 10 fours. Shubham Khajuria also returned 62 from 71 balls with eight fours and three sixes and captain Parvez Rasool 49 runs.
A large number of sports enthusiasts were present in the field to watch the Ranji match between the two teams.
Abdul Samad, selected for IPL by SunRisers Hyderabad, was returned to the pavilion without any score. Ram Dayal also contributed 43 runs. RK Teotia proved to be the most economical bowler for Haryana. Tewatia took 7 wickets for 98 runs in 22 overs. Captain HV Patel, AK Chahal, and JJ Yadav managed to take one wicket each.
In reply, the Haryana team did not have a good start and on just two scores in 1.4 overs, HJ Rana was returned to the pavilion by bowler Abid Mushtaq without opening an account. Abid took one wicket in 0.4 overs without giving any runs.
