Former great Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar has assisted Rs 50 lakh in the war with Coronavirus. Tendulkar, who holds almost all the big records of world cricket in his name, on Friday donated 25 lakhs to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund and 25 lakhs Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Apart from cricketers, wrestler Bajrang Punia and runner Hima Das are some of the names who have donated their salary in the battle against Kovid-19. Hima Das has decided to give her one month salary to help the Assam government. Not a single positive case has come up even in Assam, but the nationwide lockdown is strictly followed there.
Connected with many social organizations and charities, Tendulkar wanted to help both the Center and the state government. Apart from Sachin, the name of the Pathan brothers is also prominent among the players coming forward against this deadly epidemic. Irfan and Yusuf have donated 4000 face masks to the Baroda Police and Health Department, while Mahendra Singh Dhoni contributed Rs 1 lakh through a Pune-based NGO.
